Presence is a silent graphic novel that explores the question “Where is God?” through immersive visual storytelling, an original cinematic soundtrack, and augmented reality (AR) panels that uncover a hidden narrative within the story. Designed to be experienced without traditional dialogue, the project relies on imagery, pacing, sound, and interactive elements to create emotional depth and encourage personal interpretation. This highly art-directed project required close collaboration across multiple creative disciplines, including outsourced music composition and the development of a personalized AR website, while maintaining a cohesive creative vision and seamless user experience throughout.
The illustrated portion of this project utilized Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, Blender, and Procreate.
Joshua Wideman, a software developer, coded and developed the web-based augmented reality experience for the hidden narrative within "Presence".
